Some people consider bowling to be sport; other people consider it to be a game. It may be both a good way of spending time and competition. This American game has become very popular in Europe.

Bowling got the present rules only in the end of 19th century. During this period the tenth pin was added, rules to control the standard look and size of pins were also created. And only in 30-s of the 20th century equipment to put pins back in order was invented.
There are several variations of bowling: indoor and outdoor. Indoor bowling is played in specially equipped places. To enter this place you need to wear special boots that are made to play bowling. Outdoor bowling is played on a lawn, but it depends a lot on the weather.
Women and men play bowling. National and Word competitions are held and people from all over the world take part in these competitions.
This game also depends on the country in which it is played. There are several kinds of bowling played in certain countries of the world. For example ten-pin bowling is played in the USA and Great Britain. Nine-pin skittles is played in Europe. Five-pin bowing is popular in Canada. Duckpin bowling is played in some states of Canada and in New Zealand.
Bowling is becoming more and more popular every day. It is the only sport that allows drinking alcohol while playing. It is a great way of spending time and enjoying the company of your friends.
