Computer games have developed a lot and new games appear to satisfy human requirements till nowadays. And these new games have some renovations. So, on-line games appeared.
On-line games are those played with the help of computer network, mostly internet.
On-line games have become so popular maybe because they are very similar to real life. These games give the possibility to start virtual wars, to kill people, to get magical and supernatural abilities, to save the world and simply to live.
Sometimes they become so popular that people stop living real life and spend hours and hours in front of computer monitor. People meet friends in these games, get married and even adopt kids. And everything happens on-line. Everything you need is a computer and an access to the internet.
But psychologists don't approve real-time games especially those that imitate every-day life. According to them a person may loose a sense of reality and may start living virtually. The result is unsocial person unable to communicate with others. These games are especially dangerous for people with unstable psyche and children whose psyche is not well built up.
On-line games were favourable for expanding of the internet and played an important role in development of network technology. On-line games are both primitive games based on text and games with complicated graphics and design in which a lot of players take part simultaneously. On-line games may create a virtual world in which players live.
There are a lot of on-line games that are played by people from different countries of the world. These games unite people and offer a great number of options. The world-known on-line games are World of War craft, Final Fantasy XI and Lineage II. Some of these games are free, others are paid. And some games have two versions: the free one and the paid one. Anyway on-line games are a good business. People earn money thanks to them. People may pay for playing the game, for using some options, for getting the necessary graphics, etc. Advertisement of these sites brings a lot of money too.
As you see, on-line game is also a part of modern life, and the main aim of these games is money. But the worst is that people become obsessed by these games and this obsession is very harmful because it damages person's understanding of the world and his/her health.
